Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Indiana

The Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Indiana (APABA-IN) serves the Indianapolis legal community and beyond as a non-partisan professional organization dedicated to advancing Asian Pacific American attorneys, law students, and legal professionals. Since its founding in 2014, APABA-IN has grown from a modest membership of ten to nearly 100 engaged legal professionals throughout Indiana, establishing itself as a vital resource for career development and professional networking. The organization provides comprehensive support through multiple initiatives designed to promote professional advancement and create meaningful connections within the legal field. APABA-IN organizes and hosts an annual dinner gala that brings together prominent figures from the Indiana legal community, facilitates continuing legal education programs in conjunction with cultural celebrations, and operates a mentorship program that pairs law students with experienced practicing attorneys. Beyond networking and professional development, APABA-IN takes an active role in addressing policy issues affecting Asian Pacific American communities and collaborates with local and state bar associations to expand access to legal services. The organization also endorses qualified Asian Pacific American judicial candidates and engages in speaking events and social gatherings that foster dialogue on legal and social issues facing minority communities. As an affiliate of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), APABA-IN represents the interests of Asian Pacific American legal professionals in Indianapolis and throughout Indiana, recognizing that APAs comprise approximately 1.8% of Indiana's population while representing the fastest-growing minority group in the legal profession nationwide.
