About Association of Chinese American Physicians
The Association of Chinese American Physicians (ACAP) is a non-profit professional organization serving the Flushing, NY community and beyond with comprehensive physician networking and healthcare advancement initiatives. Since its establishment in New York in 1995, ACAP has grown to represent over 700 physicians across the metropolitan New York and New Jersey areas, with additional chapters in Westchester, Philadelphia, and Washington. The organization specializes in fostering professional development through annual conventions featuring continuing medical education programs with the latest updates and innovations in medicine. ACAP provides extensive support for Chinese Medical Graduates (CMG), including mock interview preparation for residency applications, observership programs in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and opportunities to gain practical US clinical experience. The organization conducts annual practice management meetings addressing critical topics including clinical outcomes, medical jurisprudence, office coding and billing, accounting fundamentals, marketing strategies, and electronic health records implementation. ACAP demonstrates commitment to community health through annual health fairs in the Flushing Chinese Community offering free health education, physician consultations, and health screenings in partnership with local hospitals. Additionally, the organization launched the Community Health Education Partnership (CHEP) in 2014 to provide monthly educational talks at local libraries and senior centers, enhancing healthcare awareness throughout the Chinese community. ACAP's scope extends to youth engagement through an annual Science Fair for high school and middle school students, fostering interest in science and biomedicine among younger generations.
