Organization of Chinese Americans Asian Pacific American Advocates Greater Cleveland

OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates, Greater Cleveland chapter is a membership-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Americans throughout Northeast Ohio. Since its founding in 1983, the organization has established itself as a vital advocacy resource serving the continually growing Asian Pacific American community in the Cleveland area.

The chapter works to fulfill its mission through four core goals: advocating for social justice, equal opportunity, and fair treatment; promoting civic participation, education, and leadership development; advancing coalitions and community building; and fostering cultural heritage. OCA Greater Cleveland provides community members with access to legislative monitoring and policy advocacy efforts coordinated through the national headquarters in Washington, D.C., ensuring that local concerns are elevated to the national level.

The organization serves as a bridge between the Greater Cleveland Asian Pacific American community and broader civic institutions. Through partnerships with local organizations and community groups, OCA Greater Cleveland promotes ethnic awareness and cultural diversity while working to secure equal treatment and opportunity for all Americans of Asian Pacific Islander descent. The chapter operates as part of a national network that has grown since 1973 to become a robust advocacy organization, with the 2013 rebranding to OCA – Asian Pacific American Advocates reflecting the organization's commitment to diversity and inclusion across all communities it represents.
