UT Austin Kappa Phi Lambda

Kappa Phi Lambda at the University of Texas at Austin represents one of the largest and most active Asian-interest sororities in the South. The Alpha Gamma Chapter, established on November 21, 2009, operates as a comprehensive student organization dedicated to developing women leaders through structured programming and community engagement. The chapter maintains the highest average GPA across the Texas Asian Panhellenic Council, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence among its members.

The organization operates on three core pillars that define its mission and activities. Through the Sisterhood pillar, members build lasting bonds based on friendship, respect, and shared vision within the UT Austin community and across the national network of 33 chapters. The Service pillar empowers sisters to address critical socioeconomic issues including domestic violence, hate crimes, economic injustice, human trafficking, and immigration rights, with support for CARE, a humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. The Cultural Diversity pillar enriches campus awareness through events and programming that celebrate varied backgrounds and perspectives.

Kappa Phi Lambda welcomes members from diverse ethnic backgrounds despite its Asian-interest designation, creating an inclusive environment that promotes cross-cultural understanding. The chapter actively collaborates with other campus organizations and welcomes inquiries about mixing events and partnership opportunities. With over 4,100 sisters across the nation and a 26-year organizational history, Kappa Phi Lambda at UT Austin provides women with opportunities to discover and grow their leadership potential while contributing meaningfully to the Austin, Texas community and beyond.
